Biking in the Chamonix Valley

Bursting with bike trails, the Chamonix valley is seventh heaven for those who enjoy travel on two wheels. And there are paths to suit every level.

Once you visit France you will understand why the Tour de France is the THE premier bicycle event in the world. Even though we love riding, the whole French nation appreciates cycling.

We arrange touring, cross-country or downhill bikes to suit your agenda and use the valley's leading suppliers.

Fully equipped and with or without guides, this is an activity that is easily integrated into your stay.

Mountain Biking

There are fantastic trails in the Chamonix Valley with all levels of challenges. For mixed-ability groups it’s perfect because most destinations can be reached by taking easy or challenging trails.

Climb into the mountains or simply descend down the valley trails and catch the train back. It really is the most fantastic sport to practice in the Chamonix valley because it can encompass every ability and the scenery is nothing short of breathtaking. It’s a favourite with families and, increasingly, corporate groups.

Downhill Biking

Those seeking a challenge with steep angles this is the place of your dreams. Literally the sky is your limit. The ski lifts will take you as high as you want all day every day.

There has been vigorous building of downhill trails in the past years in Le Tour and Les Houches. And there are superb technical trails on Grands Montets, Le Brévent and Flégère.

Put your on your helmet, body armour, point the bike down the hill and hang on.

Road Biking

For the avid day-tourer, there are numerous circular routes to be taken from Chamonix. You can retrace some of the Tour de France's routes which are nearby or take it gently, descending the valley and riding the routes along the valley or over to Switwerland. And there's always a train to bring you back if your legs won't take anymore.
